Peel Land partners with Regeneration Brainery
Peel Land is proud to announce we are supporting the next generation of talent within the regeneration industry by developing a key multi-year partnership with Regeneration Brainery.
Regeneration Brainery is dedicated to unlocking learning opportunities for young people aged between 14 and 21 the opportunities needed to start their career in the sector. Since its foundation in 2017, Regeneration Brainery has provided over 7,000 young people with opportunities across the UK, including cities such as Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield.
This charity focuses on providing opportunities to those under-represented in the regeneration and property sector, with 90% of all participants meeting at least one social mobility criterion as well as improving and increasing quality work experience in the sector. As of 2025, one-third of youngsters who took part in the programme, also known as ‘Brainees’, are now employed by leading property companies. By collaborating with people who are under-represented in the sector, the organisation is ensuring that the next generation in property and regeneration reflects the society we live in.
As an advocate, we will be supporting and learning from the next generation of students in local communities, by sharing development plans, highlighting career pathways, offering work experience and supporting Brainery weeks.
Lisa Marsh, Peel Land’s Associate Director - Partnerships, said: “This partnership is a key strand of our sustainability strategy, to work with schools and colleges in proximity of our schemes, starting with colleges in Wigan/Bolton as we bring forward key projects within the NorthFold corridor. We are excited to craft how this approach can then be used to support our schemes across the North, transferring skills, showcasing our transformational projects and inspiring young people.
“Working with the CEO, Michele Steel, we are taking part in Manchester Brainery Week later this year, to bring young people from this region closer to projects with a direct link to them and their community.”
In 2025 alone, Regeneration Brainery supported over 1,000 young people across the UK, through nine different Brainery Weeks. These week-long initiatives provide young people with opportunities to attend workshops, talks, and behind-the-scenes tours of current projects, while working on skills vital to the regeneration and property sector. Peel Land are excited to participate in Manchester’s next Brainery Week taking place later this year, collaborating with local schools and colleges in the areas around our biggest projects.
Michele Steel, Chief Executive said of the partnership: “We are absolutely buzzing to have Peel Land join the Regeneration Brainery family. Peel has been a leading name in regeneration for over half a century.
“To have them join us, particularly supporting our Greater Manchester cohort, means we can showcase some of the biggest regeneration programmes in the North West, as well as the training and employment opportunities that those projects bring for young people within the communities experiencing that regeneration.”
After the completion of each Brainery Week, the organisation helps Brainees to find work experience, placements, and university places. This approach has allowed one-third of all participants to achieve employment in the sector.
Peel Land are excited to move forward with this partnership and look forward to seeing our impact on young people in the regions we work closely with.
