What we do

Peel Land is a leading UK strategic land business specialising in the acquisition, promotion, management and delivery of development opportunities across multiple sectors including residential, commercial, logistics, health, digital, leisure and culture.

Sustainable development is at the heart of what we do, and we take our responsibilities to the environment seriously. As custodians of our assets, we are committed to net zero, responsible use of land and other resources, and tackling climate change.

Our people are passionate about the communities we work in, and we value our close partnerships with the public sector, local groups and charities.

By creating development and regeneration opportunities, our work makes a real difference in supporting local economic growth, opening up new skills, training and employment opportunities for local people.

Peel Land strives to make a positive impact on people’s lives and we are proud of our heritage as part of the Peel Group, one of the leading infrastructure, transport and real estate investors in the UK.

Sustainability

Peel Land’s mission is to deliver positive impact socially, economically and environmentally across our assets and for our communities. We aim to nurture our peoples’ sustainable mindset to deliver a more prosperous and climate resilient future for all our projects and stakeholders.

Working in partnership we are innovating, creating and implementing ideas at scale. Natural capital, decarbonised energy solutions, functional green public realm and climate resilient neighbourhoods are just some of the areas in which we are delivering real transformation.

Our approach to ESG

  • • We are committed to supporting local and regional green infrastructure network initiatives, which delivers additional environmental benefit relevant to our communities.

    • We are understanding the impact of the changing climate on our portfolio, identifying risks and the appropriate adaptation measure to increase our resilience for the future.

    • We continue to enhance the biodiversity within our developments to ensure we put more back into the environment than we are taking away from it.

  • • Delivering social value for our communities cannot be achieved without working in partnership; therefore, we will work with our partners to deliver events and activities that provide a positive social impact.

    • We will create job and training opportunities for local people through our design activities across our projects and estate.

    • Through our activities, we will encourage an inclusive culture for all those who will live, work or visit our projects and estate.

  • • Everyone has a role to play in creating a sustainable future; therefore, we will support our team to embed sustainability into the roles and support the upskilling of our people.

    • We will demonstrate clear governance over our sustainability-related actions that are being undertaken across our portfolio.

    • We will engage with our stakeholders; including local authorities, suppliers, investors, communities and partners, on sustainability throughout our placemaking activities.

Our history

The origins of Peel Land can be traced back to the industrial revolution. The estates and assets we are today the custodians of, focused primarily in North West England, were transformed through ambition and innovation that changed the world.

For the past 50 years, the Peel businesses have been built on an ethos of regeneration and reinvestment. Legacy, vision and community lie at the core of some of the UK’s most transformational projects.

In 2023 Peel Land was created to be a sustainable business, focused on the promotion and realisation of land development opportunities.

Peel Land is working in partnership to address major challenges of the 21st century, including the housing crisis, access to jobs and healthcare, whilst championing the importance of excellent infrastructure.
